Though he will be missed, it does open up an opportunity for me. I’ve decided to enter my name as a candidate for the position. I know that the average basketball fan probably thinks that I’m not qualified. Well that’s not true. There are two similarities between myself and Crean. First, Tom Crean never had a head-coaching position at the collegiate level before Marquette, and neither do I. Second, he was only 33 years old when he started, just 1 year older than me.

While I have no formal coaching experience, I do have a lengthy basketball resume.

- 4 years of basketball at St. John’s Lutheran Grade School (5th through 8th grade)
- 1 year of freshman basketball at Baraboo Junior High
- 1 year of junior varsity at Baraboo Senior High
- 4 games of varsity at Baraboo Senior High
- 2 years of intramural basketball at Baraboo Senior High
- 2 summers of 3-on-3 basketball in the Noah’s Ark Employee league
- 4 years of Intramural basketball at UW-Whitewater (3-on-3 and 5-on-5 full court)
- countless hours of pickup basketball at UW-Whitewater and the Baraboo Civic Center

As you can see, my credentials are quite impressive. So, Marquette, I’ll be waiting for your call.

There are events planned across the country to protest the war. Here in Milwaukee, there is a rally on Saturday the 18th at noon sponsored by Peace Action Wisconsin. Also, United For Peace and Justice is sponsoring a major mobilization in New York on April 29th. I’ll be at both, hope to see you there.

They have three nights available. I’ve been playing ultimate for two seasons now, and totally love it. It’s great exercise, and lots of fun. Also, we always enjoy a few drinks after the games.

The second time for this particular bike. It was stolen a little over a year ago, but the police were able to find it because I have the serial number. Hopefully they can find it again. I’ve hardly ridden it since I got it back. In fact, it still has the tag from the police department on it. I guess I had it coming as I didn’t have it locked up. But, that didn’t do me any good last time as they just snipped the lock anyway. I guess I figured lightning wouldn’t strike three times. I also figured my condo was a little more secure. If anyone sees someone riding a black and yellow Gary Fisher mountain bike around, let me know, it might be mine.

It was a little more competitive than the pickup games that I’ve played. A little more strategy too. Apparently, running around in circles and yelling “I’m open” isn’t the most effective way to play. I expected to play a bit better than I did. Only had one score, but a few drops and even more bad throws. I’ll chalk those up to nerves. Everyone on my team was very helpful and were patient with me. Ultimate is a total blast. Anyone interested in playing should check out the Milwaukee Ultimate Club.
