Innocent Until Proven Guilty
“In our system, each individual is presumed innocent and entitled to due process and a fair trial” - George W. Bush, in his reaction to the Scooter Libby indictment. Finally, the president and I agree on something. I just wish this rule applied to everyone. How many people are being imprisoned in Guantanamo Bay on suspicion of being a terrorist? Have they had due process and a fair trial? I guess all you have to do is label someone as an “enemy combatant”, and you don’t have to afford them the same rights as Dick Cheney’s right-hand-man.
